Creating Openness in a Tightly Planned Space

Haven Work offers co working spaces and private offices for tenants of varying sizes. The key to the success of the co working spaces and the offices are the common spaces in between. They need a mixture of open and intimate spaces that are useful for the many and varied needs of tenants.

In this environment, the office and working spaces needed to be tightly planned to maximise the number of tenants and the common spaces needed to be as generous as possible to provide a greater sense of space.

Flexible, Bright & Open

To achieve the design objectives we needed to keep the floor plan as visually open as possible. We designed the spaces with as few walls as possible and as much glazing as practical. Opting for a light colour pallet, we used accent colours to define the the separate touch down, informal meeting and sitting spaces. For the reception and waiting area we peeled back the ceiling exposing the soffit. Rather than paint it black to make it recessive, we highlighted the soffit with an ocean blue colour.
