Precision Conversion
The project was to come up with concepts to convert an old motel to a stylish apartment building with a wine bar on the ground floor. As a motel, the rooms were small and opportunities to change the structure were limited.
Using what was there to create something wonderful.
Leaning in to the room sizes, we kept most of the spaces as bed-sit apartments. On the ends of the building we were able to combine rooms into larger apartments. On the roof we added a penthouse apartment under a curved roof that expressed the contours of the site.
